Volunteers at Perfect Paws Animal Rescue, a new animal shelter in Bourbonnais set to open later this summer, educated Tales and Ales goers about homeless animals in our community. Dogs and their owners have fun in the sun at the dog park in Willowhaven Nature Center. FantasayCon, held at the Kankakee Public Library on July 1, 2019, offered a vatiety of goods for sci-fi and fantasy fans, with everything from arts and literature, to comics and collectables. The last minute location switch to North Field Square Mall did not stop the crowd from attending this year’s Strawberry Jazz Festival, held on June 2, 2019.Brianna Butler, 14, of Kankakee, performs for the crowd at the Strawberry Jazz Festival.
