Pendleton, OR – Following record rainfall across parts of eastern Oregon this week, Pendleton and surrounding areas will see drier weather starting Sunday. However, temperatures will drop significantly, bringing frosty mornings and cooler days throughout the Thanksgiving week.

According to the National Weather Service, Pendleton recorded nearly an inch of rain over the past two days, contributing to local flooding concerns along low-lying areas. Showers will diminish Saturday night, with only a 20% chance of rain lingering before clearing fully by Sunday morning. Travelers along I-84 and other regional roadways should anticipate patchy fog early Monday and cooler temperatures that may impact driving conditions.

Sunday kicks off with mostly sunny skies and a high near 50 degrees, offering a pleasant but brisk day. Overnight lows will drop to the mid-30s, signaling the start of a colder weather trend. Monday through Wednesday remains predominantly sunny during the day, with daytime highs ranging from 43 to 50 degrees. Nights will be especially cold, dipping into the low 20s by Thanksgiving morning.

For those planning holiday travel or outdoor activities, Thanksgiving Day will feature sunshine and calm conditions, with a high near 42 degrees. Freezing temperatures will return Thursday night, so drivers on rural or less-traveled routes should remain alert for black ice.

Be sure to layer up and keep an eye on road conditions as frosty nights set in across eastern Oregon this week.
