Corpus Christi, TX – South Texas residents should prepare for significant weather changes as a cold front approaches midweek. The warm, sunny conditions forecast for Wednesday will shift dramatically by Thanksgiving Day, bringing cooler air, gusty winds, and rain chances into the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service, temperatures in Corpus Christi are expected to reach a high near 83°F on Wednesday under mostly sunny skies. However, a cold front moving in late Wednesday night will bring daytime highs on Thanksgiving down to the low 70s, with nighttime lows dipping into the mid-50s. Winds could gust up to 25 mph, impacting those traveling along I-37 or coastal roadways.
Friday will see even cooler conditions with a high near 64°F and breezy north winds up to 23 mph. By Saturday, rain chances increase slightly to 20%, although temperatures will climb slightly, reaching highs near 70°F. Sunday and Monday are expected to remain mostly cloudy with slight chances of showers and highs in the upper 60s.
Travelers should plan ahead, particularly during Thanksgiving, as strong winds could affect outdoor plans and roadway safety. Boaters and fishermen are advised to monitor marine conditions, as the cold front will also bring higher seas along the Gulf.
The weather pattern will settle by early next week, but cooler temperatures will remain across the region. South Texans are encouraged to prepare for fluctuating conditions by keeping jackets and rain gear ready.
