Austin, TX – Texans along the I-35 corridor can expect an unusually warm and breezy start to Thanksgiving week, with highs soaring into the mid-80s Monday. Southwesterly winds, gusting up to 20 mph, will keep conditions dry and mild, but forecasters warn residents to stay prepared for fluctuating temperatures as the holiday approaches.

According to the National Weather Service, Monday’s high of 85°F is nearly 15 degrees above seasonal averages, making it feel more like early autumn than late November. Breezy conditions will persist into the afternoon, with no rainfall expected for at least five days. Overnight lows will dip into the upper 40s, providing a cool reprieve from the daytime heat.

Tuesday and Wednesday will remain sunny and warm, with highs in the low 80s, but Thanksgiving Day is set for a dramatic shift. A cold front will arrive late Wednesday, dropping Thursday’s high to a brisk 66°F. North winds will pick up, bringing cooler and less humid conditions perfect for outdoor celebrations. However, those traveling for the holiday should monitor changing road conditions and pack accordingly for colder weather by midweek.

No severe weather or rainfall is in the forecast, making this an ideal window for travel or outdoor events. Residents are encouraged to stay hydrated during the warm start to the week and dress in layers to adapt to the cooler Thanksgiving temperatures.
