Corpus Christi, TX – Severe thunderstorms are expected to develop across the Victoria Crossroads area today, posing risks of large hail and damaging winds. The storms are forecast to occur between 2 p.m. and 10 p.m., impacting drivers and holiday travelers returning home after Christmas.

According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, the area is under a “Slight Risk” (Level 2 of 5) for severe weather. Meteorologists emphasize that large hail and isolated wind gusts of 60+ mph are the main hazards, with localized flooding possible in poorly drained areas. Residents in the storm path should monitor updates and avoid unnecessary travel during peak storm hours.

Beyond today’s storms, conditions will gradually improve heading into Friday and the weekend. Friday’s forecast includes patchy morning fog, transitioning into mostly sunny skies with a high near 76°F. Nighttime temperatures will cool to the mid-60s.

By Saturday, sunny skies dominate with highs nearing 79°F, offering relief for outdoor plans. Fog is likely to return Saturday night but clears by Sunday morning. Sunday and Monday will see sunny conditions and highs in the mid-to-upper 70s, accompanied by moderate breezes.

Drivers should exercise caution during periods of reduced visibility caused by fog, particularly along major roadways such as U.S. Highway 77. Stay tuned to the National Weather Service for updates on today’s storms and weekend forecasts.
