Fort Worth, Texas – Storms will fire up across North Texas Monday morning, bringing heavy rain and lightning that could disrupt travel across Fort Worth, especially near I-30 and Loop 820.

According to the National Weather Service, showers and thunderstorms are expected to begin by 7 a.m. Monday, June 9, with a 60% chance of rainfall. Winds will shift throughout the day, starting from the northwest and turning southeast in the afternoon. Rainfall totals may exceed a quarter inch in isolated downpours.

Expect storms to linger into Monday night with another 60% chance of precipitation. Winds will remain light but could shift from the northeast to calm by evening, complicating outdoor plans. Motorists should be alert for slick streets and brief low-visibility pockets in heavy rain.

Tuesday brings continued thunderstorm chances at 50% by 1 p.m., with slightly cooler highs near 84°F. Rain activity is expected again overnight into Wednesday, holding a 60% chance and dropping temperatures to the upper 60s.

Wednesday and Thursday stay stormy, with highs in the low to mid-80s and repeated rain chances at 60% and 40%, respectively. Friday trends drier, with partly sunny skies and highs rebounding to near 90°F.

Reminder: Charge devices, avoid low-lying roads during downpours, and check local alerts before driving. Rain and storms are expected to ease after Thursday.
