Fort Worth, TX – Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected to develop across northeast Texas and the Red River Valley through Wednesday afternoon, with lightning and brief heavy downpours possible. The area most impacted includes counties northeast of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, the storm activity is likely to occur before 5 p.m. Wednesday, with the bulk of the precipitation expected to remain northeast of DFW. No severe weather is forecasted; however, morning storms may include brief periods of lightning and localized downpours.

Communities including Gainesville, Paris, and areas along the Red River should remain alert during the morning commute. Gainesville is forecast to reach a high of 74°F, while Paris will see cooler conditions near 69°F. South of the weather front, temperatures in cities like Waco and Killeen are expected to climb into the low 80s.

Drivers in northeast Texas are advised to allow extra time for travel during the morning and early afternoon due to wet roadways. While the storm system is not expected to intensify, residents should monitor local alerts in case of shifting weather conditions. Any remaining showers are expected to taper off by Wednesday evening.
