San Antonio, Texas – San Antonio residents could see heat index values soar to 101°F by Monday afternoon, with a growing risk of evening thunderstorms pushing into the area starting Tuesday night.

According to the National Weather Service, daytime highs will reach 95°F Sunday and 96°F Monday, but humidity will push the “feels-like” temperature above 100°F. A 20% chance of thunderstorms enters the picture Tuesday night, increasing slightly Wednesday with scattered showers expected across Bexar County and surrounding areas.

Light winds and clear skies Sunday will transition into partly cloudy evenings and gustier conditions by midweek. Gusts up to 25 mph are possible Monday night into Tuesday, especially on the south and southeast sides of the city. Localized downpours or lightning could disrupt commutes and outdoor plans.

Residents should limit outdoor activity during peak heat hours, stay hydrated, and prepare for possible lightning or brief power outages Tuesday and Wednesday. Though rainfall chances remain relatively low, conditions are ripe for brief but impactful storms.

This early June pattern could mark the beginning of a broader summer trend across South Central Texas. Storm chances linger through Thursday, with slightly cooler temperatures arriving by Friday.
