San Angelo, Texas – Thunderstorms are poised to rattle San Angelo midweek, with the greatest threat arriving late Wednesday night and lasting through Thursday morning. The National Weather Service has issued a 50% chance of storms starting after dark Wednesday, followed by a 70% likelihood of rain and thunderstorms during Thursday’s morning and afternoon commute — possibly disrupting traffic on US 87 and Loop 306.

According to the National Weather Service, rain totals could reach nearly half an inch in some areas, with stronger storms capable of producing lightning and gusty winds. Thursday’s storms may affect morning travel and outdoor plans, so drivers should be ready for wet roads and reduced visibility. Flash flooding in low-lying areas remains a concern if rainfall intensifies.

By Friday, drier air returns with a high near 86°F, but isolated afternoon storms still pose a minor threat. Saturday and Sunday bring a return to typical spring conditions: mostly sunny skies, highs in the low 80s, and lows in the mid-60s.

📅 Five-Day Forecast for San Angelo:

  • Wednesday: 40% chance of showers, high near 80°F
  • Wednesday Night: 50% chance of storms, low near 62°F
  • Thursday: Thunderstorms likely (70%), high near 79°F
  • Friday: Slight chance of rain (30%), high near 86°F
  • Saturday & Sunday: Partly sunny, highs in the low 80s
