El Paso, Texas – A dangerous stretch of dry heat is gripping West Texas this week, with temperatures rising from 95°F Thursday to a blistering 101°F by Saturday. El Paso residents, especially those near the I-10 corridor, should prepare for persistent high heat, minimal wind, and no significant overnight cooling through early next week.

According to the National Weather Service in El Paso, Thursday, June 5 will be sunny with a high near 95°F. Southwest winds will remain light at 5 to 8 mph. The risk escalates Friday with highs near 99°F and peaks Saturday at 101°F, under calm skies and stagnant air. This prolonged heat may elevate fire danger, stress the power grid, and create dangerous conditions for outdoor workers and vulnerable populations.

The region is experiencing its first triple-digit stretch of June, with daily highs remaining above 95°F through Monday. El Pasoans are urged to avoid outdoor activity between 1 and 6 p.m., wear light clothing, and check on elderly neighbors and pets. Use cooling centers if available and hydrate regularly.

No rain or storm relief is expected over the next five days, which could worsen air quality and dry vegetation. Heat-related illnesses can set in quickly—act early, not after symptoms appear.

Five-Day Forecast (June 5–9):
