Texas Tornadoes Cause Damage in Red River County: EF-2 and EF-1 Ratings Confirmed

Clarksville, TX – Two separate tornadoes struck Red River County on April 4, 2025, leaving a trail of damage in their wake. The National Weather Service confirmed an EF-2 tornado with peak winds of 130 mph that traveled from Rosalie to Clarksville between 3:27 PM and 3:43 PM. This tornado had a path length of 9.66 miles and a maximum width of 580 yards.

Just minutes later, an EF-1 tornado, with winds reaching 110 mph, formed northeast of Clarksville from 3:46 PM to 4:06 PM. This second tornado traveled for 10.05 miles and had a maximum width of 411 yards.

Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities have been reported from either tornado.

According to the National Weather Service’s preliminary survey, the two twisters were part of a larger storm system that swept through the region. Emergency response teams and local officials continue to assess the extent of the damage, while residents in affected areas are advised to remain cautious and follow safety guidelines.
