San Antonio, Texas – Tornado watches are now in effect for parts of Texas and Oklahoma as severe weather threatens the region through the early hours of Sunday. The National Weather Service issued warnings for both states, highlighting risks of tornadoes, hail, and wind gusts.

According to the NWS Austin-San Antonio, the Texas watch lasts until 5 a.m. Sunday, covering areas like San Angelo, Sonora, and Del Rio. A couple of tornadoes are possible, with hail reaching up to two inches in diameter and winds gusting to 70 mph. Emergency preparedness officials urge residents to monitor local weather alerts, especially in rural and less-populated areas.

Similarly, in Oklahoma, a tornado watch has been issued until 7 a.m. Sunday for areas south of Interstate 44. Cities like Tulsa, Muskogee, and McAlester are at risk for severe weather, including tornadoes, large hail up to 1.5 inches, and gusty winds that could cause significant damage to trees and structures. Residents are advised to secure outdoor items and stay inside during storms.
