Amarillo, TX – Sunny skies and mild winds will dominate Amarillo’s weather throughout Sunday and Thanksgiving week, offering ideal conditions for holiday travelers along I-40. With highs reaching the low 70s today and slightly cooler temperatures expected next week, the outlook remains pleasant for outdoor plans and road trips.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), Amarillo can expect a high of 72 degrees today, with wind speeds around 5 to 15 mph. Tonight, temperatures will drop to a cool 47 degrees under clear skies, providing crisp but comfortable conditions for evening outings.

As Thanksgiving approaches, Monday and Tuesday will see partly sunny skies and daytime highs between 60 and 65 degrees. Winds will shift to the north by midweek, with gusts as high as 25 mph expected by Wednesday. While Wednesday night temperatures will hover near freezing, Thanksgiving Day promises partly sunny skies and a high of 51 degrees, perfect for gatherings or last-minute travel.

Holiday travelers are encouraged to plan for possible wind gusts on Wednesday, particularly along I-40. Be prepared for fluctuating temperatures and keep an eye on the forecast as Thanksgiving approaches.
