Dallas, Texas – The Trinity River continues to experience minor flooding, impacting pasture lands and trails near the river. This flood warning remains in effect for Dallas County until early Wednesday afternoon. Residents should avoid driving through flooded areas. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

According to the National Weather Service Fort Worth, the Trinity River at Dallas measured 31.2 feet at 1:30 PM CDT Monday. Minor lowland flooding is already occurring. Agricultural lands used for cattle grazing will see minor flooding. Low water crossings near the river will also be affected. The river is expected to fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight, continuing to fall to 23.2 feet by early Saturday afternoon.

Beyond the ongoing flood threat, Dallas can expect significant weather changes beginning Wednesday. Showers and thunderstorms are likely to develop, particularly after 7 PM CDT. These storms could bring new rainfall amounts between a quarter and half an inch. Residents should be prepared for potential travel disruptions and consider securing outdoor items.

Looking ahead, the weather pattern shifts to a more seasonal summer outlook. Thursday brings a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1 PM CDT. Friday and Saturday also carry chances for afternoon storms. Temperatures will remain warm, with highs reaching the upper 80s to low 90s throughout the week.
