San Antonio, TX — A stretch of warm, breezy weather across Central and South-Central Texas is expected to shift by Friday night as isolated thunderstorms begin moving across the region, with more significant storm activity forecast through Easter Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio, showers and storms will first appear late Friday night, primarily affecting the Rio Grande Plains, southern Edwards Plateau, Hill Country, and areas along the I-35 corridor. Gusty winds between 25 and 30 mph will continue Thursday, keeping conditions dry and warm ahead of the weekend system.

The storm threat increases significantly Saturday night into early Easter Sunday, with a chance for scattered to numerous thunderstorms. Some storms may become strong to severe, particularly in areas including San Antonio, Austin, and surrounding counties.

Forecasters expect the weather to begin clearing from west to east late Sunday morning into the afternoon. Daytime highs will remain in the 80s through the weekend.

Residents are advised to monitor forecasts closely and prepare for changing conditions. Avoid travel during peak storm hours and secure outdoor items susceptible to high winds. Minimal impacts are expected Thursday and Friday before the system strengthens on Saturday.
