Fort Worth, TX – Heavy rain and thunderstorms are poised to hit Fort Worth Tuesday, with up to 2 inches of rainfall possible and a high risk for flash flooding in low-lying areas.

According to the National Weather Service, storms will begin to develop after 10 a.m. Tuesday, strengthening into the afternoon and evening. Thunderstorms will become widespread, with intense downpours, gusty winds, and brief localized flooding likely. Rainfall totals could reach 1 to 2 inches, particularly near the I-35W corridor and surrounding roads where runoff accumulates quickly.

Tuesday night, additional storms are possible before 1 a.m., with lingering showers through the early morning hours. Winds will shift from the southeast at 10 mph, then calm overnight. Motorists are urged to allow extra travel time and avoid flood-prone underpasses.

Relief arrives Wednesday with mostly sunny skies and a high near 79°F, bringing a temporary break in North Texas’s active spring pattern. A slight chance of storms returns Wednesday night but should remain isolated.
