Fort Worth, Texas – Severe thunderstorms are expected to ignite across North and Central Texas starting at 9 p.m. Tuesday, bringing the risk of large hail, damaging winds, and power outages through early Wednesday morning.

According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, storm chances will rapidly increase Tuesday night as a cold front and dry line move through the region. Strong to severe storms are most likely from Cisco and Graham eastward into Waco, Killeen, and the DFW Metroplex between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. Wednesday. Large hail, wind gusts over 60 mph, and frequent lightning are the primary hazards.

Communities including Sherman, Canton, and Palestine should prepare for late-night thunder and potential travel disruptions. Emergency officials urge residents to stay indoors during storms, charge electronic devices beforehand, and never cross flooded roads.

The severe threat will diminish after sunrise Wednesday, but additional alerts may be issued overnight if storm intensity increases.
