Texas – With temperatures climbing into the upper 80s today, beachgoers in Corpus Christi are being urged to exercise caution. While there is a low risk of rip currents along the coast, the National Weather Service warns swimmers to be extra careful near piers and jetties, where dangerous conditions persist.
According to the US National Weather Service, Northeast winds are expected to remain between 5 to 10 mph, keeping waters relatively calm, but waves of up to one foot may still pose a hazard. Officials recommend swimmers follow rip current safety guidelines, especially as the UV index will be very high, increasing the risk of sunburn.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to stay informed of weather updates and monitor high tide times at Bob Hall Pier and Port Aransas, peaking in the afternoon. As showers are forecasted later in the week, beachgoers should plan accordingly for changing conditions.
