Amarillo, TX – A winter storm warning remains in effect for parts of the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles through 9 p.m. Saturday, with heavy snowfall expected to impact travel and daily activities.

According to the National Weather Service in Amarillo, snow accumulations between 5 and 7 inches are anticipated across Cimarron County in Oklahoma, as well as Dallam, Hartley, Moore, and Sherman counties in Texas. The storm will begin Friday evening at 6 p.m. and continue through Saturday night.

Hazardous road conditions, particularly on bridges and overpasses, are likely to develop. Officials warn that travel could become difficult, with Friday evening commutes affected by the worsening conditions. Motorists are advised to delay travel if possible and exercise extreme caution if driving is necessary.
