Shreveport, LA – A severe weather threat is looming for parts of Southeast Oklahoma, Northeast Texas, and Southwest Arkansas late this afternoon through tonight. Strong thunderstorms are expected to intensify as a complex of storms moves eastward, with damaging winds and large hail as the primary concerns.

According to the National Weather Service, the highest risk for severe storms will be across Southeast Oklahoma, extreme Northeast Texas, and Southwest Arkansas. The storms could bring winds in excess of 60 mph, as well as hail the size of quarters or larger. An isolated tornado cannot be ruled out, especially along and northwest of I-30.

Communities in Northeast Texas, including Texarkana, and Southern Oklahoma are urged to stay alert. Travelers on Interstate 30 and nearby highways may face difficult driving conditions as gusty winds and hail could impair visibility and cause damage to vehicles. Local authorities recommend securing loose outdoor items and ensuring weather alerts are set to stay informed.

The storm threat is expected to continue into tonight, with the possibility of further updates as conditions evolve. Residents in the impacted areas should remain vigilant, as these severe storms could bring quick changes in weather.
