San Antonio, Texas – Storms could fire up over San Antonio by early Wednesday afternoon, bringing lightning, gusty winds, and pockets of heavy rain that may disrupt midweek plans.

According to the National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio, a 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms is expected Wednesday, mainly after 1 p.m. Gusts could reach up to 25 mph, with isolated downpours possible through the evening. The unsettled pattern continues with at least a 30% chance of storms each afternoon through Friday night.

Temperatures will hover near 89°F on Wednesday and climb to 92°F Thursday before dropping slightly Friday. South and southeast winds will remain steady at 10 to 15 mph, with higher gusts during storms. Thunderstorm activity may bring frequent lightning and brief but intense rain, especially during the afternoon commute.

Residents across Bexar County and nearby areas should secure outdoor items, monitor local alerts, and avoid flooded low-water crossings. Those with outdoor events or travel plans Wednesday through Friday should have alternate arrangements in place.

Storm chances gradually taper off by Saturday, but isolated showers could still linger into the weekend. More updates will follow if severe weather warnings are issued.
