Corpus Christi, Texas – Scattered thunderstorms and sweltering heat will grip the Texas Coastal Plains this week, with highs near 100°F and rain chances peaking midweek in the Victoria Crossroads region.

According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, Wednesday brings a 30–60% chance of showers and thunderstorms over the Victoria area, tapering slightly to 20–35% Thursday across the broader Coastal Bend. Storm activity is expected mainly in the morning and early afternoon before shifting inland. Winds from the southeast at 10–20 mph may intensify gusts near storms.

Cities including Corpus Christi, Rockport, Port Lavaca, and Beeville will see highs from the upper 80s to low 90s, while inland areas like Cotulla, Tilden, and Laredo could push into the upper 90s. Overnight lows will remain humid and warm in the mid-70s to around 80°F.

With continued heat and sporadic storms, residents are urged to limit outdoor activity in the afternoon, stay hydrated, and avoid flooded roads during downpours. Coastal visitors should also monitor rip current risks, especially near Bob Hall Pier and Port Aransas.

The rain pattern is expected to linger into the weekend, with a 20–40% chance of storms returning Sunday. More updates may follow if storm intensity or coverage increases.
