Dallas, TX – Severe thunderstorms and extreme fire weather conditions will impact parts of Texas and the southern U.S. on Tuesday, March 4. The National Weather Service warns of damaging winds, tornadoes, and high wildfire risks.

According to the NOAA Storm Prediction Center, severe storms will develop early Tuesday across east Texas and eastern Oklahoma. The storms will move eastward through the Lower Mississippi Valley and the Southeast throughout the day. Some storms could continue into Tuesday night across Alabama and the Florida Panhandle.

Extreme fire weather conditions are expected in south-central Texas and the Texas Hill Country. Low humidity and strong winds up to 60 mph will increase the risk of fast-spreading wildfires. Areas across the southern Plains may also experience critical fire conditions.

Residents in affected areas should stay updated on watches and warnings. Have multiple ways to receive alerts and review emergency plans. Avoid outdoor burning and be cautious with ignition sources. Emergency officials urge residents to remain prepared as conditions develop.
