Austin, TX – A Cold Weather Advisory remains in effect for much of central Texas as temperatures are expected to drop significantly overnight, with wind chills ranging from 10°F to 25°F, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) Austin-San Antonio.
The coldest conditions will be felt in the Hill Country and Edwards Plateau, where wind chills could reach as low as 10°F. According to the NWS, residents should dress in warm layers, check on vulnerable individuals, and bring pets indoors. Space heater safety is also emphasized to prevent fire hazards.
Temperatures are expected to gradually warm up through the weekend, but another chilly night is ahead before relief arrives next week.
