Corpus Christi, TX – South Texas residents should prepare for patchy to dense fog tonight ahead of a midweek cold front that will bring cooler conditions. Today’s warm highs, reaching the mid-80s, will give way to lows in the 60s tonight, with visibility concerns across major routes like US-77 and State Highway 44.
According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, dense fog is expected to develop after sunset Monday, creating potentially hazardous travel conditions for evening and early-morning commuters. Drivers are urged to slow down, use low beams, and allow extra travel time, particularly along coastal and low-lying areas prone to fog.
By midweek, a cold front will push through the region, dropping daytime highs to the 60s with cooler overnight lows. Tuesday will remain mostly sunny, though fog may linger through the morning. Winds from the southeast at 10 mph will gradually shift northward by Wednesday, signaling the arrival of cooler air.
Beachgoers and coastal visitors should also be cautious, as rip currents remain a low risk but are still possible along South Texas beaches. Water temperatures in the mid-60s and wave heights between 2 to 4 feet are forecast for the coming days.
Looking ahead, Wednesday brings partly cloudy skies with highs near 75 degrees, followed by cooling trends on Thursday and Friday, with daytime highs dropping to the upper 60s. Residents are encouraged to prepare for cooler mornings and evenings as the week progresses.
For travelers and outdoor enthusiasts, staying updated on changing weather conditions will be key through the week, especially with the potential for lingering fog and temperature drops.
