Lubbock, TX – Texans will see a warm and breezy start to February as temperatures climb into the 70s and 80s this week. Strong southwest winds could create hazardous conditions, especially in the Panhandle, where gusts may cause blowing dust.
According to the National Weather Service, Sunday will be sunny, with highs reaching 78°F. Winds will be from the west at 10-15 mph. Monday will be even warmer, with highs nearing 84°F, but lighter winds around 5-10 mph. Residents should expect clear nights, with lows in the 40s.
Looking ahead, Tuesday will bring another warm day with highs in the upper 70s, followed by slightly cooler weather midweek. By Thursday, temperatures are expected to dip into the upper 60s before rebounding near 70°F on Friday.
Drivers should be cautious of reduced visibility due to blowing dust, especially along major highways. Those planning outdoor activities should take advantage of the clear and warm conditions while staying alert for changing wind speeds.
