Memphis, TN – A significant winter storm is bringing snow, ice, and dangerous road conditions to West Tennessee through Wednesday noon, with Memphis and the I-40 corridor facing the brunt of the impact.

According to the National Weather Service in Memphis, mixed precipitation will produce between 1 and 6 inches of snow and a light glaze of ice across the region. Hazardous road conditions are expected, especially during Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning commutes. Travelers along I-40 should anticipate delays and use extreme caution.

The storm will also affect parts of East Arkansas and Southeast Missouri. Winds gusting up to 30 mph will reduce visibility, making travel dangerous. Temperatures will drop to a low of 19°F Tuesday night, with wind chills as low as 6°F. Snowfall will taper off by Wednesday afternoon, but icy patches may persist.

Residents should stock emergency supplies, including flashlights, food, and water, and check road conditions by dialing 511. Warmer temperatures are expected by the weekend, offering relief from the current arctic blast.
