Memphis, TN – A Wind Advisory remains in effect through midnight tonight as strong gusts continue to impact West Tennessee and neighboring regions.

The National Weather Service in Memphis is warning residents about sustained south winds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts reaching up to 50 mph throughout the day and evening.

According to the National Weather Service, the advisory covers portions of East Arkansas, North Mississippi, Southeast Missouri, and West Tennessee. Communities affected include Memphis, Jackson, Dyersburg, Union City, and surrounding areas across the four-state region.

Forecasters emphasize that hazardous wind conditions will persist through midnight, potentially leading to scattered power outages and downed tree limbs. Drivers, especially those operating high-profile vehicles, should use extra caution due to strong crosswinds.

Outdoor items such as patio furniture, trash bins, and decorations should be secured to prevent them from becoming airborne.

Wind speeds are expected to gradually diminish after midnight, but residents should remain alert until the advisory expires.
