Memphis, TN – A cold front will sweep through Tennessee early this week, bringing cooler temperatures and an increased chance of rain just ahead of Thanksgiving. Sunday and Monday will remain mild before a noticeable dip in temperatures by midweek.
According to the National Weather Service, Sunday will be sunny with highs reaching 65 degrees in Memphis, while Monday’s temperatures will peak near 71 degrees with partly sunny skies. Rain chances will develop Monday night into Tuesday, with scattered showers forecasted across the region. A 20% chance of showers could bring slick roads during evening commutes, particularly along the I-40 corridor.
Cooler air settles in by Tuesday, with highs only reaching 52 degrees and lows dipping to the upper 30s. Thanksgiving Day will likely see rain showers, with a 60% chance of precipitation and daytime temperatures near 52 degrees. Wind gusts of up to 25 mph may accompany the rain, making travel more challenging. Drivers should plan ahead and monitor local forecasts for updated conditions.
The extended forecast shows a return to drier weather by Friday, with mostly sunny skies and highs around 54 degrees. However, roadways may still be wet from Thanksgiving rainfall, so extra caution is advised.
