Tennessee Weather Alert: Frost Risk in Memphis Until 9 AM Wednesday With Flooding Possible on I-55

Memphis, TN – A spring chill will settle over West Tennessee tonight as a Frost Advisory remains in effect for Memphis until 9 a.m. Wednesday, while flood risks continue along the Wolf and Mississippi rivers through midweek.

According to the National Weather Service in Memphis, temperatures are expected to dip near 33°F early Wednesday morning. Sensitive plants could suffer damage if left uncovered. Residents across Memphis, Bartlett, Collierville, and Germantown are urged to take precautions Tuesday night by covering or bringing tender vegetation indoors.

At the same time, flood advisories and warnings remain active across the region. The Wolf River near Rossville is forecast to rise above flood stage by Wednesday afternoon, with flooding of nearby farmland and low-lying areas expected. The Mississippi River at Memphis continues to swell with prolonged rainfall upstream, prompting warnings for motorists traveling along I-55, Highway 72, and Highway 51 to avoid flooded areas and never drive through standing water.

  • Sunday: Sunny, reaching a springtime high of 81°F.
