Nashville, Tennessee – A wetter, more springlike weather pattern is expected to develop across Tennessee beginning Tuesday, February 10, as the 8–14-day outlook highlights above-average precipitation and temperatures running warmer than typical mid-February levels through Monday, February 16. The setup favors repeated rounds of rain and raises concerns for localized flooding rather than winter weather impacts.

According to the National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center, above-average precipitation is favored across much of the Tennessee Valley during the February 10–16 period, including Tennessee. Temperatures are also expected to trend above seasonal norms, keeping daytime highs well above freezing and reinforcing a springlike feel across the state.

Middle Tennessee, including Nashville, Murfreesboro, and Franklin, may see multiple rounds of rain during the outlook window. With ground conditions still slow to absorb moisture this time of year, heavier rainfall could lead to ponding on roads and minor flooding in low-lying or urban areas. Gusty winds and isolated thunderstorms are possible if stronger systems move through.

East Tennessee, including Knoxville, Chattanooga, and the Tri-Cities, could see enhanced rainfall totals due to terrain influences along the Appalachians. West Tennessee, including Memphis and Jackson, is also expected to remain mild and wet, supporting a consistent rain-dominant pattern.

River and stream levels could rise quickly if rain falls in successive waves, particularly across the Tennessee and Cumberland river basins. Drivers are urged to use caution during heavy rain, especially at night when visibility is reduced.

Residents should stay alert for updated advisories and monitor local emergency guidance. With the wet, mild pattern expected to persist through Monday, February 16, additional flood advisories or hydrologic alerts may be issued as confidence increases heading into next week.
