Huntsville, AL – Residents in northern Alabama and southern Tennessee should prepare for midweek weather changes, as a cold front is expected to bring storms followed by a significant temperature drop.

According to the National Weather Service in Huntsville, a low chance exists for strong to marginally severe storms Wednesday afternoon and evening. These storms may produce gusty winds, small hail, and possibly an isolated tornado.

Temperatures will remain warm through Wednesday, with highs between 72-75°F, before the cold front moves in overnight. By Thursday, much colder air will arrive, with highs dropping to the upper 40s and lows potentially falling below freezing.

The National Weather Service urges residents to stay weather-aware and have multiple ways to receive warnings. If thunder is heard or lightning is seen, individuals should seek shelter indoors.

By Friday, conditions are expected to stabilize, with mostly sunny skies and highs in the low 60s. However, early showers are possible Saturday morning.
