Nashville, TN – A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for all of Middle Tennessee, including cities such as Nashville, Cookeville, and Columbia, through 9 PM CDT today, April 10, 2025.
Thunderstorms are expected to bring damaging winds, hail, and frequent lightning to the area. According to the National Weather Service, gusts could reach up to 70 MPH, with the possibility of large hail up to two inches in diameter. The watch area also includes portions of Arkansas, Kentucky, and Missouri.
The primary threats from the severe storms include scattered wind gusts and hail, as well as lightning. The storm is expected to move east-southeast throughout the afternoon and evening. The severe thunderstorm watch extends from far northeast Arkansas through southern Illinois and Kentucky, affecting communities like Memphis, Jackson, and Bowling Green.
