Memphis, TN – A winter storm is set to impact the Memphis area starting Tuesday afternoon, bringing snow, ice, and dangerous travel conditions. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for portions of West Tennessee and East Arkansas from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning.

According to the National Weather Service, up to two inches of snow and a thin layer of ice are possible. Hazardous road conditions could make Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning commutes treacherous. Drivers should plan ahead and allow for extra travel time.

The forecast for the next five days includes:

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy, high of 42°F. Snow and sleet expected by evening.

Wednesday: Snow tapering off, high near 27°F, gusty winds up to 25 mph.

Thursday: Bitter cold, sunny, high of 23°F, low of 10°F.

Friday: Mostly sunny, high near 31°F.

Saturday: Partly cloudy, warming to 40°F.
