Tampa, FL – After a chilly start this morning, the Tampa Bay region will warm quickly under mostly sunny skies, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) Tampa Bay/Ruskin. Today’s highs will climb into the mid-70s to near 80°, with the warmest temperatures expected across Arcadia, Sebring, Fort Myers, and Sarasota.
Rain is not expected across the region, with 0% rain chances today, tonight, and Sunday. Skies remain clear to partly sunny, allowing for a pleasant early winter weekend across Tampa, Lakeland, Brooksville, Crystal River, and Chiefland.
However, despite the quiet weather on land, hazardous marine conditions persist in the eastern Gulf of Mexico. Breezy northeast winds will continue producing choppy waters and elevated wave heights through this evening. A Small Craft Advisory remains in effect for portions of the Gulf waters near the Tampa Bay coastline, and forecasters warn inexperienced mariners to avoid heading out on smaller vessels until conditions improve.
Tonight, temperatures will fall into the mid-50s north—including Chiefland, Crystal River, and Brooksville—and into the upper 50s to low 60s near Tampa, Sarasota, and Fort Myers. By Sunday, another warm and sunny day is expected, with highs ranging from 78° in Chiefland to mid-80s in Arcadia, Sebring, and Fort Myers. Rain chances remain near 0–10%, keeping conditions dry across west-central Florida.
Marine conditions should gradually improve Sunday as winds ease and seas lower. For beachgoers and boaters, NWS encourages continued caution through the evening before conditions settle heading into the new week.
