According to the National Weather Service, the warning is active until 8 p.m. Tuesday, with Monday temperatures expected to peak at 107°F and Tuesday forecasted to hit 108°F. Residents should avoid outdoor activities during peak sunlight hours, hydrate regularly, and check on vulnerable individuals, including elderly neighbors and pets.
Southeast and east winds will offer little relief, blowing at only 5-10 mph through the weekend. Overnight lows will remain uncomfortable, hovering in the low-to-mid 80s. The excessive heat poses increased risks for heat-related illnesses.
