Baltimore, MD – A high wind advisory has been issued for areas along the Allegheny Front, with hazardous conditions expected from midnight through noon on Tuesday.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) Baltimore/Washington, west winds of 25-35 mph are anticipated, with gusts reaching up to 55-60 mph in affected regions. Areas farther east are likely to experience lighter winds, with gusts around 25-35 mph.

The NWS warns that strong winds could lead to downed trees and power lines, increasing the potential for widespread power outages. Travel may also be affected, especially in higher-elevation regions where wind intensity is greatest. Residents are advised to remain in lower levels of their homes during the windstorm and to secure outdoor objects to prevent damage.

Those in the impacted areas, particularly parts of western Maryland and the Virginia highlands, should exercise caution when traveling and monitor updates on weather conditions.
