Denver, CO – Colorado residents are urged to prepare for strong winds and rapidly changing conditions today as gusts up to 40 mph sweep across the region. The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for northeastern and north-central Colorado, warning of wind chills in the teens and 20s, especially along the foothills and eastern plains.

According to the NWS, gusty winds will make travel challenging along exposed roadways, especially Interstate 25 and other major routes across the area. Motorists are advised to exercise caution and secure outdoor objects to prevent damage.

Thursday will bring calmer conditions, with sunshine and highs near 33°F in Denver. However, the respite will be brief as snow chances increase Friday night, with the heaviest snowfall expected Saturday. Areas along the Front Range may see significant accumulations, potentially impacting weekend travel.

Saturday’s high will hover around 28°F, with overnight lows dropping to 10°F. Snow is expected to taper off by Sunday morning, leaving behind cold but sunny skies, with highs near 30°F.

As gusty conditions persist, residents should monitor weather updates and prepare for potential delays. Plan ahead if traveling this weekend to avoid hazardous road conditions caused by snow and freezing temperatures.
