State College, Pa. – Scattered thunderstorms could roll into State College by mid-afternoon Thursday, threatening to disrupt travel and outdoor plans across central Pennsylvania. Drivers along Route 322 and Route 26 should prepare for sudden downpours, reduced visibility, and slick conditions after 2 p.m.

According to the National Weather Service, Thursday will begin sunny with a high near 86°F before showers and isolated storms develop after 2 p.m. West winds will range from 3 to 7 mph. Though the chance of precipitation is only 20%, any storm that forms could produce heavy rain and localized flooding in poor drainage areas.

By Thursday night, conditions will clear slightly with partly cloudy skies and lows around 61°F. But the relief will be short-lived.

Friday brings another round of scattered thunderstorms after 2 p.m. with a higher chance of rain—50%. Storms could impact evening commutes and weekend events. Residents should charge electronics and secure loose outdoor items before Friday night, which could bring more showers and a low of 65°F.

Saturday and Sunday both feature elevated rain chances, with up to 80% likelihood of showers Saturday night. The weekend will feel more humid, with highs in the upper 70s and occasional gusts during storms.

Warnings remain possible through the weekend. Stay alert for weather updates and monitor local advisories.
