St. Louis, MO – A narrow band of snow is forecast to develop across Missouri on Saturday, potentially impacting travel along the I-70 corridor. Drivers should prepare for minor delays as hazardous conditions may form in areas expecting up to 3 inches of snow.
According to the National Weather Service, snow is likely to begin early Saturday morning, with accumulation ranging from a dusting to 3 inches. While most areas, including St. Louis, are expected to see only 1 inch or less, a heavier band of snow could create slick roads near I-70. This includes high-risk areas like Columbia, Warrenton, and St. Charles.
Dry, low-level air could delay snow until midmorning, reducing totals in some areas. However, officials warn uncertainty remains over where the heaviest snowfall will occur. Travelers should plan ahead, allow extra time, and monitor updates throughout the day.
For those staying local, Saturday’s temperatures will hover around 34°F, making conditions ideal for light snow. Winds will remain calm, but overnight lows will drop to 23°F, potentially causing any untreated surfaces to freeze.
The extended forecast brings calmer weather Sunday, with mostly sunny skies and a high near 33°F. Monday will see similar conditions, with highs reaching 37°F by Tuesday.
If traveling, keep emergency supplies in your vehicle, and check real-time road conditions through the Missouri Department of Transportation.
