Springfield, MO – A warm and breezy Sunday is setting the stage for changes as a weather front approaches Springfield and surrounding areas. Highs today will reach between 65-71 degrees, with gusty winds up to 34 mph and a small chance for evening drizzle.

According to the National Weather Service, a significant cool-down begins Monday, with daytime highs dropping to 48-65 degrees and overnight lows dipping to 24-30 degrees. Rain is expected to move in by Wednesday evening, just ahead of Thanksgiving. Travelers should prepare for wet roads, especially along I-44, as showers may disrupt plans on one of the year’s busiest travel days.

Tuesday will see mostly sunny skies with temperatures peaking near 56 degrees, but colder air and increased cloud cover will lead into Wednesday’s rain system. Forecasts show a 50% chance of precipitation Wednesday night, with highs near 49-62 degrees during the day.

By Thanksgiving Day, Springfield residents can expect a chilly, partly sunny day with highs between 38-44 degrees. Overnight temperatures will fall further, ranging from 19-25 degrees. Those planning outdoor gatherings or travel should dress warmly and remain cautious of potential icy patches during early morning hours.

For the rest of the week, conditions will stabilize, with clear skies and highs nearing 40 degrees on Friday. However, low temperatures will remain below freezing, emphasizing the need for winter preparedness.

Stay updated on changes to the forecast by monitoring local weather reports. Prepare for fluctuating conditions and use extra caution if traveling during the Thanksgiving holiday.
