Southwest Michigan Braces for Severe Storms Along I-69

Fort Wayne, IN – Residents in southwest Michigan should prepare for potential severe weather today, particularly along the I-69 corridor. Early morning storms are anticipated, with a second round of severe weather possible in the afternoon and evening.

According to the US National Weather Service Northern Indiana, the initial line of weakening storms will cross Lake Michigan and move into southwest Michigan around sunrise, bringing isolated gusty winds. Later in the day, scattered storms are expected to develop along a cold front, especially east of I-69. Some of these storms may be severe, with damaging winds possible.

The forecast for Fort Wayne includes cloudy conditions from 5 a.m. to 6 a.m., with thunderstorms expected around 5 p.m. Temperatures will reach a high of 86°F, with a 65% chance of precipitation. The weather will clear up on Wednesday, with sunny skies and a high of 79°F. The remainder of the week is expected to remain mostly sunny, with temperatures ranging from the upper 70s to low 80s.
