Wisconsin – A rainy Sunday is forecast across southern Wisconsin as cloud cover brings light rain and drizzle. Cooler conditions are expected for Veterans Day on Monday, when a strong cold front is set to lower temperatures significantly. Gusty winds will accompany the rain, with temperatures expected to drop by about 20 degrees by the start of the work week.

According to the National Weather Service in Milwaukee/Sullivan, rain will increase tonight, continuing into Sunday, as a low-pressure system moves through the area. By Sunday afternoon, light showers will cover much of southern Wisconsin, including Madison, Milwaukee, and Janesville. The rain will taper off by Sunday evening, but gusty southeasterly winds will persist, turning northwesterly as a cold front arrives.

Veterans Day will start mild, with early afternoon temperatures around the mid-50s. By late afternoon, however, the cold front will bring a sharp decline in temperatures, potentially falling to the high 20s by evening. Monday night will be much colder, with lows in the mid-30s, a significant shift from the weekend’s mild conditions.

Looking ahead to Tuesday, expect dry and clear skies across Wisconsin, with daytime highs in the low 40s and sunny conditions. Wednesday and Thursday will remain clear, but temperatures will stay cool, ranging from the upper 30s to low 40s throughout the week.

Residents planning to attend Veterans Day events should dress warmly, especially later in the day. Motorists should drive with caution during rainy conditions on Sunday, as wet roads may become slick.
