Medford, OR — A Red Flag Warning has been issued for southern Oregon, effective from 8:00 p.m. Sunday through 11:00 a.m. Tuesday. The warning comes amid strong east winds and low humidity, increasing the risk of wildfires.

According to the National Weather Service, winds between 15 to 25 mph are expected, with gusts ranging from 30 to 40 mph. Low daytime humidity, dropping to single digits or low teens, will also exacerbate fire conditions. Poor overnight humidity recovery, predicted at only 20% to 50%, adds to the heightened fire risk.

The warning affects areas including Medford, Brookings, and portions of northern California. Residents are urged to avoid activities that could ignite fires, such as campfires or burning debris. Fire officials recommend securing outdoor equipment and ensuring emergency kits are ready.

This Red Flag Warning highlights the ongoing wildfire threat as dry conditions persist in the region. Firefighters remain on alert, and local authorities are monitoring conditions closely to respond to potential fire outbreaks.
