Boston, MA – Southern New England is in for a stretch of ideal summer weather this week, with temperatures climbing steadily and skies staying mostly sunny through Thursday.

According to the National Weather Service in Boston, Monday will bring highs in the 70s with some clouds. By Tuesday, most areas will reach the upper 70s to low 80s under full sunshine. The warmup continues Wednesday, with sunny skies and highs in the 80s across Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut.

Coastal towns like Providence and New London can expect mild sea breezes, while inland cities such as Worcester and Hartford could see highs near 90 by Thursday. Thursday also brings the week’s only storm risk, with a chance for isolated showers or thunderstorms in the afternoon as humidity increases.

Residents are encouraged to stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, and avoid strenuous outdoor activity during peak heat hours. Those with outdoor plans Thursday should monitor for updates in case thunderstorms develop.

This early June heat is typical for Southern New England, but Thursday’s readings could mark the region’s first 90-degree day of the season.
