Boston, MA – A wet spell is expected to begin Thursday for much of southern New England. Rainfall amounts are forecast to range from 0.5 to 1.5 inches over the next few days. Rain showers will impact southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

The U.S. National Weather Service in Boston reports that rain will start overnight Wednesday and persist into Thursday, continuing through Saturday. Heavier downpours are likely on Friday, while Saturday may see scattered showers. Interior areas of New England will likely stay dry, but coastal regions should brace for steady rain.

According to the forecast, temperatures will drop as the rain moves in. Highs on Thursday will hover around 72°F, cooling to 66°F by Saturday. The chance of rain diminishes by Sunday, with drier weather expected to return early next week.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution on slick roads during peak rainfall hours. Residents should prepare for wet conditions and potential minor flooding in low-lying areas.
