Boston, MA – Strong and potentially damaging winds are sweeping across Massachusetts today, with a wind advisory in effect until 10 p.m. The National Weather Service warns of gusts ranging from 45 to 55 mph, with isolated bursts exceeding 60 mph in western and central parts of the state.

According to the National Weather Service, the strongest winds are expected between mid-morning and late afternoon, posing significant risks. Residents should secure outdoor items and prepare for potential power outages caused by falling tree branches and weakened power lines. High-profile vehicles may face difficulty on roadways like I-90, where gusts could reduce visibility and control.

Temperatures today will reach a high of 42°F with sunny skies, but wind chill will make it feel much colder. Tonight, winds will gradually calm as temperatures drop to 29°F.

Looking ahead, Friday will remain breezy with a high near 39°F, but gusts will diminish to around 26 mph. Saturday and Sunday promise sunny skies and cooler temperatures, with highs ranging from 32°F to 39°F. Overnight lows will dip into the low 20s, so bundle up if heading out.
