Paducah, KY – Drivers on I-57 in Southern Illinois should prepare for isolated thunderstorms this Friday and Saturday as a weak disturbance moves through the area. Despite highs reaching the low 90s today, much of the region will remain dry.

According to the National Weather Service, the best chances for rain will occur in Southeast Missouri and parts of Southern Illinois. Isolated showers are possible this evening and Saturday, with the main impact along I-57. Thunderstorms may intensify Sunday as a cold front approaches, bringing cooler temperatures next week.

Residents should stay updated through the weekend, particularly on Sunday when showers could be more widespread. By Monday, highs will dip into the 70s, and rain chances remain into the early part of next week. For detailed forecasts, monitor local updates or visit weather.gov. Plan ahead if traveling along I-57 or I-24 to avoid slick road conditions.
