Southern Georgia – 3:00 a.m. Friday – Southern Georgia remains under a tornado watch early Friday morning as Hurricane Helene’s outer bands continue to move inland. The watch, issued by the National Weather Service, remains active until 6:00 a.m. Multiple tornadoes have already been reported overnight.

According to the NWS, areas from Waycross to the Florida border are seeing strong supercell activity, increasing the likelihood of tornadoes. Winds continue to exceed 60 knots, creating hazardous conditions for residents and aviation.

Residents should remain indoors and monitor the latest updates as conditions could worsen before dawn. Those in tornado warning areas should seek immediate shelter. Similar tornado threats are also expected across Florida and coastal waters.
