Pueblo, CO – A Red Flag Warning is in effect for parts of southern Colorado, including Pueblo, as critical fire weather conditions develop. Low humidity, gusty winds, and dry fuels will increase wildfire risks Wednesday afternoon, particularly near the San Luis Valley.

According to the National Weather Service, the warning remains active until 8 p.m. Wednesday. Residents should avoid outdoor burning and be prepared for rapidly changing conditions. Meanwhile, light snow showers are possible over the southern mountains, with a few inches of accumulation expected in the Sangre de Cristo range.

Looking ahead, mostly sunny skies will dominate Thursday and Friday, with highs reaching the upper 60s. However, fire danger remains a concern Friday afternoon, especially in gap flow areas along I-25.

By Saturday night, unsettled weather moves in as a Pacific storm system brings light rain showers to the plains and potential snowfall to the mountains. Sunday morning could see a mix of rain and snow before clearing in the afternoon, with highs in the low 60s.

Early next week, another round of rain and snow is possible, with increasing northwest winds Monday night into Tuesday. Travelers should stay updated on road conditions, especially on I-25 and mountain passes.
